Gai and Lee were lucky; they had the hot springs that late afternoon all to themselves. Such a chance was rare, as the Konoha hot springs were popular for teams to visit after a hard day’s training, but Gai and Lee had a tendency to train harder and later than the others, so in all likeliness, they had all come and gone already. Thus they sat together in silence, close despite the emptiness of the bath, Gai’s arm draped around Lee’s slender shoulders and Lee’s head resting on Gai’s chest.

The two of them had been deeply involved for some time, ever since a certain incident a few months prior. Lee had gotten accidentally inebriated on his eighteenth birthday celebration and had proclaimed his emotions for his teacher at the top of his lungs before passing out, leaving his team totally stunned, especially Gai. He brought him back to his apartment to sleep it off, and after Lee had sobered up, the two ended up spending the night together. It had been a night that neither of them would soon forget.

So now they sat together in the warm water, their eyes shut pleasantly.

Lee let out sigh, “I love you, sensei…” Gai smiled, placing his hand on Lee’s chin and tilting his face up to meet his, kissing him gently. Slowly, Gai placed his hand on Lee’s waist and pushed his tongue past his student’s lips. Breaking away, Lee whispered with a red face, “Gai-sensei, what if someone sees?”

“Lee… no one’s here.” Gai kissed him again, even more passionately. Their breathing quickened as Lee placed his hands on the back of Gai’s head and between his shoulder blades, returning Gai’s eagerness.

“Gai-… un…” Lee murmured in a break of their lips. He sank deeper into water of the onsen as Gai’s hands moved lower down Lee’s body. In the six years that they had been together as teacher and student Lee had grown so much. He had gotten much taller and built up a great deal of muscle mass due to his excessive training. Lee’s mind had grown too, as he no longer possessed the adolescent thoughts of a twelve year old, but now those of the young adult he was. But to Gai… to Gai Lee still seemed so small. Gai had that urge to still hold and protect him. Sometimes, he would look at Lee and still see that tiny boy crying in the training grounds due to his inability to defeat his rival and his fear during missions. But when those thoughts of Lee as a child would slink into his mind, he would have to force them away. Gai could not think of Lee as a child and also as his lover without doubts of his romance coming to mind. Gai knew he was in love with his student and that Lee felt the same way, but he also knew of the things that some of the villagers thought and said. He knew that there were parents in the village that even grew concerned around him, an event that would cause him more than slight emotional strife. But it never seemed to be something that a few reassuring words from his lover could not heal. It was a price that he was more than willing to pay for his paradise.

Slowly, Lee felt Gai’s hand move up his thigh as his fingers brushed the edge of his towel. Instinctively, Lee reached down and gently grabbed Gai’s wrist. “Gai-sensei… not here…” he whispered.

Obediently, Gai pulled back. “Alright, Lee… You know I’ll never force myself on you…” he breathed in his lover’s ear. He knew by the way that Lee would angle his head and shrug up his shoulder with a small smile that he enjoyed the tickle of Gai’s breath in his ear.

“… I said not here, Gai… I didn’t say anything about when we got back to your apartment,” Lee said in a sensual tone, laying a quick kiss on Gai’s lips, and exiting the onsen, winking on his departure behind the changing screen.

Gai watched his student walk out and smiled at his spunk. Since becoming his lover he had been allowed to see a new side of Lee that no one had witnessed before. It was a thought that brought a smile to his lips. Lips that were currently longing once more to meet Lee’s… that is when it occurred to Gai that he really wanted to get home.
